A Record Breaking Success

Now Looking Ahead to Next Year, Sat 24th July

This year’s event saw a huge increase in footfall with our onsite 90+ vehicle car park full, and the road outside the event also full of visitor parking. Throughout the show various competitions, raffles, tombola’s, donation boxes and the dog show itself took place all to raise money for the Guide Dog for the Blind charity.

The event itself raised £1500, the Guide Dog stall itself raised a further £371 making an impressive total of £1,871. Incredibly, this overall total is 87% higher than our first event held this time last year, marking a monumental milestone that you, our sponsors and all stall holders helped us achieve.

We were hoping to have PC Callum on site with his police car, but unfortunately other urgent police duties called him away; we will try again for next year. We also hoped to have a flypast by 3 aircraft, but again two of them were held up on other commercial flying duties, but we still managed to have one and one lucky winner has received a voucher for a 40 min experience flight.

The dance display by children from the Dance Base in Great Yarmouth was a big success, I’m sure there are some future Strictly stars amongst them. Not so sure about the have a go at dance adults after them and certainly not Myself and Steve….🤣

Harbour Radio made a brilliant job of providing background music throughout the day and we hope to have them back next year.
